Green Wave Energy Corporation (GWEC) is a Newport Beach-based energy engineering think tank and manufacturer of self-sufficient energy producing products. GWEC also produces a variety of renewable energy products including wind turbines, wave generators, water current turbines, and combination products (solar/wind/battery storage) for the US and global markets.

The think tank was founded in October 2008 when Mark Holmes and Dave New decided to try to develop one of the more commercially viable alternative energy technologies as part of the effort to free the U.S. and the world from its dependence on fossil fuels. Today, Green Wave designs, sells, and installs in the industrial, commercial, government, and military business channels.

Green Wave understands that renewable energy technology will only become “main stream” if customers know the technology exists and understands both the economic and environmental benefits of using the renewable technology.

Green Wave’s mission, therefore, is to bring renewable energy technologies and energy-saving products to the world’s attention, explain the costs and benefits, and make it as easy as possible to obtain and use these products.

In a little more than a year after founding Green Wave, Mark and Dave have been employing the “Stone Soup” method of developing an amazing team of people to invent, design and develop solar, wind, wave water current and combinations of renewable technologies into efficient and effective products.

Green Wave’s first product is the World Light Pole™, a fully-self sufficient solar and wind powered light, power, (cell or WIFI) signaling and surveillance pole that can be installed just about anywhere in the world – without having to do engineering or other studies to determine whether the particular location is suitable. In emergencies, when other lights go out, the World Light Pole™ stays on! Green Wave CEO, Mark Holmes says: “The World Light Pole™ should make it so that in a few years, no one will be surprised if a lost hiker discovers a Pole located on the top of a remote mountain top; plugs his cell phone into its inverter; sends a text message for rescuers to find him; and then heats up a Hot Pocket and a cup of cocoa using the pole’s inverter while he waits for help to arrive!”

Presently a component of the Pole is Green Wave’s Windsock™ wind turbine, which Green Wave will soon bring on the market separately and scale up to commercial and even industrial size.

Green Wave is also in the process of developing a patented ocean wave generator and an innovative zero impact water current turbine.
